WJ North Check in
To provide a seamless and expedited check-in experience for WestJet
passengers, the Airport Authority reconfigured the Domestic Terminal Building
(DTB) to provide more service options and space. Stuart Olson was contracted
to renovate a new check-in and baggage area.

The new check-in area includes additional Self Bag Drop (SBD) units, check-in
kiosks and traditional check-in counters. The non-conveyable baggage area will
also be reconfigured.

Existing infrastructure has been reconstructed to accommodate new baggage
lines (supplied and installed by Beumer Group) and elevator for nonconveyable
items. Washrooms on the arrivals level have also been demolished
and rebuilt, along with two escalators and a retail space.
This phased project is located in public areas, requiring strict adherence to
airport and safety protocols. The project is also currently on budget and
on schedule.

Throughout the project, Stuart Olson worked closely with YYC IT, YYC Security
and CATSA to ensure coordination between the various groups. This was
especially important when shifting the PSL line.
