Bird to Acquire Canada’s Largest Marine Infrastructure, Land Foundation and Dredging Company for $82.3 Million; Catalyst for Future Growth
On September 3, Bird entered into a definitive shared purchase plan agreement with Fraser River Pile & Dredge (FRPD), a privately-owned marine construction, land foundation, and dredging contractor with substantial self-perform capabilities, based in New Westminster, BC. The acquisition is subject to government regulatory approval, which is anticipated early in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Established in British Columbia in 1911, FRPD has established themselves as a dominate player in marine construction, land foundations and dredging with substantial self-perform capabilities for any sized project or facility. Their projects extends across Canada, with projects ranging from mining infrastructure support in the North, to dredging and port expansion in Churchill and the St. Lawrence Seaway, and marine environmental remediation in Hamilton’s harbour. Their reputation for successfully delivering marine construction, dredging services, and land-based infrastructure construction has made them a partner of choice for large, sophisticated private clients, and major port authorities. By joining forces, Bird will offer enhanced opportunities to expand infrastructure services across Canada.
